Mainland, totalitarian China has squeezed out
a predictably, superficially magnificent Summer Olympics;
magnificent and grandiose akin to an gigantic alegorical athletic-political
version of the infamous Potemkin Villages of the 18th century.
Remember the story of the Potemkin villages from your history classes?
I ask that you dredge up your high-school history books on this one.
But first:
There are those on this website; I won't be shy about listing usernames,
who still turn a blind eye to the horrors and barbarism practiced
by the predecessors of this present Chinese regime.
Sorry, Bowser...
Sorry, z [whatever your real name is]...
America is not the villian in the world; it's not the nation wearing
the horns instead of the halo.
Bowser?.... American tanks don't go out and crush hundreds of innocent
lives in Times Square or Lincoln Memorial on orders from the government.
But Chinese tanks did...in 1989.
So whose the villain there?
American soldiers and officers, as an occupation force, don't go out
and either crucify or dismember 1,000's of Buddhist monks in Tibet
on orders frm higher ranks and government officials.
But Communist Chinese soldiers did....in 1959, etc.
America doesn't and didn't slaughter millions, maybe tens of millions
of its own citizens because the victims criticized the government or owned
too much land or money.
But Mao did...starting from 1949, and peaking with the Cultural
Revolution in 1966-68.
That mass-murderer is still idolized by thousands of insane, leftist
Americans who wear his image on t-shirts, etc.
Switching gears here...
So what does China do next following its 'successful' Olympics?
Well....It could follow Hitler's example after his 'successful'
Olympics in 1936.
Both Olympic spectaculars [1936, 2008] were dripping with pomp, nationalism,
and mass-spectacle.
If I lived on Taiwan in 2011, I might be worried...I might wake up
and see a mushroom cloud rising over Teipei.
