When describing John McCain (not Palin) and his claim to bring change to Washington, Obama quipped, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."
The McCain campaign quickly seized upon that remark and claimed it was a gender based attack on Sarah Palin. Apparently, despite the fact that her extreme positions (like banning nearly all abortions) are shared by very few women, the McCain people won't hesitate to exploit Palin's gender to try to get every vote they can.
And what's another problem with McCain criticizing Obama for that comment? Well, it's exactly the same comment McCain himself made when he criticized Hillary Clinton's healthcare proposals.
It's not hard to see who's the hypocrite here, and who's the one really playing politics with gender.
