I'm finding it really difficult to understand how anyone with a secular education and background, regardless of their political or economic beliefs, could possibly consider voting in for the highest offices in the land anyone who believes the world is 6000 years old.

Call me doctrinaire and closed-minded, but I would prefer a Darwinist Hoover to a Creationist Roosevelt.
