The price tag is prohibitive.

And I live in an apartment complex. No garage, nowhere to plug in to recharge overnight. No outlets available on the parking decks at the office building I work in, either.

In other words, the market for this kind of car is restricted to homeowners and renters of upscale apartments with private garages... until (unless?) consumer demand forces commercial building owners to retrofit charging stations at parking spaces. And they won't do that until they figure out a way to meter it and charge the tenant.

Finally - why only a 5-door? (of course I know the answer - the family market) Plug-in hybrid tech in something resembling Chevy's Aveo, or the Honda FIT, or others of that class, would be much better suited to the likes of me.
