I've heard that "one study" quoted many, many times to disarm any discussion of trends that aren't trending in the "right" direction.
My main point is that the "consensus" has gone past the point where what the ice or temperature actually does in the real world makes any difference.
It'll be interesting to see if next year's ice retreat is the "third" worst.
