I’m with you. Give me reality.
It’s kind of sad seeing the younger generation going without power for a week here in Houston. They are crying about not having all their toys working. I kind of like the peace and quiet. I’ll take sitting on the porch talking with the neighbors over being cooped up inside watching TV any day. I like the simpler times. I would love to live in Mayberry.
But I see this virtual world coming. As the world population grows and there are more people sharing Earth’s limited resources, most people won’t be able afford to go sailing or take nice vactions. They’ll have access to cheaper virtual reality versions that will be more convenient than the real thing.
Sadly, there may come a day, very soon, where the act of actually talking to someone in person becomes a rare thing.
