The republican party has largely had control of congress from 1994 through 2006. They also controlled the presidency for the last nearly 8 years. They also have as a philosophical core principle that markets are smart, government is dumb, and the government that regulates least regulates best.

These are not interpretive dances or smoke signals. You can't 'read' them this way or that way. This is a major tenant of a party who has been in control of the executive and congress for most of the decade prior to this crisis, and even beyond.

But here you scream angrily about Frank, about Dodd, about carter and even about Johnson!.

I know the history of the acts of de-regulation over the banking industry and the history of failed efforts to regulate the credit default swap and derivitive markets, I think a hell of a lot better than you do based on what I've seen of your bullshit. But lets lay all of this aside. Lets lay aside your cut-and-pastes from right wing blogs, from the wall street journal, from 'cover story of the day' dot com. Hell, lets do one better- lets grant your absurd little argument that democrats were all evil and the republican grand party has nothing to do with the bad decisions that brought us here.

Should we grant your absurd hypothesis, there is still then one point you can't slide off: The GOP had power, and if they did, they had the means and responsibility to combat the 'evil democrats', who were the minority party! They held the helm of America through the last 10 years.

Enough. This is absurd. You can't sit here and explain this away. I've had it, long ago, and I think the American people are noe getting as fed up as I am with this assinine nonsense.

Not your fault! Torture? Declining global status? Wrecked alliances? Lie after Lie, politics of personal destruction and now the outright socialization of loss for a huge swath of our economy? NOT YOUR FAULT!!!

That America is sick of this endless excuse making, of fools like you who think if you scream enough you can force people to accept the antithesis of common sense indefinitely?
