Lindy, you are getting information from a stupid person again.
WE NEED to take the $700 billion and give it to all homeowners of record! That is approximately $265,000 per homeowner! Primary residence only. 1st rule- Apply it to your mortgage! That money goes back into the financial industry. If you have money left...and you want to buy a car...it has to ba a car MADE in the US. That money goes into the auto industry. The rest can be used for additional goods and services but must stay in the US.
Look at that idea, and figure out exactly where the money is coming from, (the $700 billion) and where it ends up going. Think about the movement of the money, and what actually happens. Who's getting the money in the end? Who's paying the taxes? We won't even talk about monitoring issues.
Arrest most, if not all the greedy financial people at the c-level. Take their ill-gotten gains and use it to pay down the fed deficit.
The total compensation for the top 500 CEOs in America, including salaries, bonuses, and stock, adds up to about $6.5 billion.
This would pay for the Federal Budget for 19 hours. The money flowing directly into the pockets of politicans would make an even more pitiful dent.
If you took the Forbes 400, the 400 richest Americans, and liquidated their entire net worth--Bill Gates and the others, their stock, houses, cars, everything--burned these billionaire bastards all the way down to the ground and took all of it in cash...
You'd net $1.57 trillion, which would pay for the Federal government for a little over six months.
Then who do you eat?
One of your problems is you have no grasp at all of the numbers involved in these questions.
Good luck on a balanced budget amendment. That's been a conservative wet dream for years. Not likely.

This is why I get nervous when liberals want to run the economy.
