Another answer

Is also the soaring the gas prices.

Let's face it, the price has DOUBLED within the past few years and gas is what drives this economy. If a couple with two kids was paying $250 in gas a month five years ago, and now it costs them $500 a month AND they are paying more for EVERYTHING, ....THAT is having a snowball effect too. Especially if everyone traded in for a newer SUV or truck.

A lot of people got in over their heads. As home and property values increased, everyone started double dealing taking equity out of their homes to improve them and borrowing on others to build a new one or pay for their kids college fund. As things began to spiral out of control and the money dried up, we find ourselves sitting on our lawns with massive debt and no way to pay it off.

Tom, I have yet to hear you complain ONCE about the outrageous prices that the oil and gas companies are charging. I should say, gouging.....and this administration SHOULD HAVE stepped in a couple of years ago and stopped it. Now they have us by the balls and are waiting for us to cry Uncle. They will charge us every penny they can get before this administration and it's Oil Kings step down.

All Hail the Mighty Texas.
