I hadn't realized you'd written off an Obama victory so fast. ;)
I've lived for two years with the idiot Pelosi two heartbeats away from the presidency, and I'm not bitching about it.
Is Palin the person I would pick for President out of a lineup? Hell, no. Vice President? Don't care that much. I wouldn't pick McCain as my ideal president, either, but Gingrich is out of the business, and the others with my principles are still coming up through the ranks. But I'd pick Bozo the Clown before I picked a committed socialist with delusions of destiny like Obama.
Anyway, better someone naive who knows it than someone naive who thinks they're a political genius.
Again, the key to me is that this pick drove the Democrats psycho, and the idea that this is because they honestly believe she is going to end up President is ridiculous. The Democrats have convinced themselves to their marrow that Obama will win.
It's something else. McCain was supposed to pick some political "metrosexual," a "moderate" that would be eaten alive by the Democrats. Or maybe even a Democrat. You see, this was going to be the year that conservatism finally bit the dust in the Republican Party, and it was all going to be "crossing the aisle" to suck on the Democrats. Liberalism, and liberalism-lite. Then Palin came out of right field, and it was like frigging electroshock.
