There were predictions before the war started of 5,000-10,000 dead within the first month of hostilities. By that standard, this war has been a resounding success. It did take longer than expected and with some dark days, but this war is now won. Our forces are beginning a well planned withdraw on our terms and will be out of Iraq in a couple of years.
