When we leave Iraq a vacuum will be created because all of their defenses have been destroyed by us when we invaded. That leaves them vulnerable with their neighbors-Iran and Syria. Therefore:

China is projected to over take the US. as the worlds' largest economy in the next few years. They have an estimated 1,000s' of people [working for the Chinese government] whose sole purpose is to hack US and European computer systems for the purpose of gathering intelligence and showing their ability to dissrupt US commerce. 80% of US commerce now moves over the internet. In response, the USAF has now created a new command -the cyber command- to protect US computer systems.

It goes without saying Iran and N. Korea are developing nuclear weapons.

For the first time since the Cold War, Russia is once again exerting their force outside their borders [ Georgia] and just in the past few months conducted training excersizes with Venezuelas' navy and sent 2 super sonic bombers to conduct excersizes with Venezuelan AirForce.

I think it is naive for us to think the rest of the world will always have peaceful intentions. I feel that we will only have peace through strength.
