You're really hanging a lot of moral authority on "convicted" aren't you? There is no doubt of Ayers' guilt. He admitted it many times.

And again, Ayers is a symptom, not the problem. Obama was steeped in the local Chicago radical system, including a long-term home in a black radical church, and a relationship with the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America.

What I've found most fascinating in this discussion is that liberals discussing this here and elsewhere seem to have no problem at all with Ayers in the first place, and are honestly puzzled as to why his past would bother anyone. I'm noticing the same thing on other sites with Obama's other radical connections, basically boiling down to "socialist? So what?"

This argument, in other words, is pretty much futile.
