Is there a huge remnant of an impact crater in Tennessee?

If you can get hold of a topographical map of Tennessee,
take a look at the 80 kilometer [50 mile] diameter "Nashville Basin".

The 'raised' rim around the Nashville Basin looks suspiciously like a circular
ring on the topo map.
Hmmmmmm! A large asteroid impact in far off days?

Let's see! Going north of Huntsville, Alabama towards Nashville, I remember saw
fractured [maybe even shattered] shale or slate rock on the slopes
of highway cuts [small cliffs].

My hypothesis might be worth checking out.
