Lieberman is the only guy they could truly claim could hit the ground running.
Might have a big impact upon the folks who like war, who like nice guys, the rabidly pro-Israel folks, some independents and the anti-Palin people.

However, some conservatives believe he is too moderate, too much Democrat. The Extremists don't like a lot of his positions but may come to terms with them rather than kiss the whole thing away to a fellow of a different racial persuasion.
