Ok, so there's no visible ice/water ice on the surface of the poles.

If there is ice and it's buried and even mixed in with lunar soil, it would still be hard to extract.

No mystery there. So far.

But hey, there's ice at Mars' Northern Arctic (Phoenix). More to come on that one, I'm sure.
