The problem with Obama

I wish I could vote for him. I really do, he's very likable. The problem with Obama is he is not a moderate. He has no record of moderation in the senate or any where else. McCain is about as moderate as a Republican can expect. He's willing to bend on some issues, but not all. For me that's enough. His answers to the questions about nominating Supreme Court Justices are spot on. Obama on the other hand has an agenda a mile wide with no room for debate and no room for moderation. I'm convinced he would choose justices that are driven by their agendas rather than determining judgement by what is the law.

I think Palin was chosen as a running mate to win back the right. McCain's campaign was lackluster until she joined. Now the right is back in his court due to what she brings to the campaign. I don't like it, but I can understand why he did it. Honestly I think she drives away as many moderate voters as she energises. A Palin presidency would be disasterous. Palin aside, I still have to vote for McCain. If he loses I'm hoping its at least close and not the landslide the Press is prophesying. If Obama becomes President I hope he's willing to soften on his far left agenda. If not I think we're in for an eye opener and the democratic control of congress will be short lived, as the moderates will swing back at the next election to check the democrat's agendas. I believe America as a sum of it's parts is moderate and wants that to continue in spite of flirtation with both sides from time to time.

On the economy, both candidates are abysmal. I really wish we had a candidate up to the task of turning it around. Maybe the President-elect will surprise me, but so far both sides seem to pandering to us and sinking us deeper in the mire.
