except for 3 people. You are in a room with 2 others. There is no society, nothing besides you three.
One gets sick and demands that the other two make them well.
Not asks - demands.
Is that really moral?
What if the two others become sick and say "majority rules" you must now take care of us because we demand you do?
Is that moral?
Isn't true morality feeling like one want's to assist others, but that you are not a slave to this stranger?
See, strip away all the societal mumbo jumbo which tries to mask the true morality of the situation and the picture becomes much clearer.
I'd much rather die than demand someone else become my slave and be saddled with responsibility for my life with no choice of their own.
I see healthcare as a personal responsibility. I see the high costs which have made it so expensive - created by the entitlement crowd and the insurance companies that foot the bill.
I see the quality of care at the hospitals - wait forever - then get rushed through the system serviced mainly by nurses and spending only a fraction of a moment with an doctor that must make the rounds. That's not quality care anymore, that's fast food service translated to medical care. The doctor has no time to really focus on the health needs of any patient for any period of time and must primarily focus on those with the greatest needs.
So I stand by my assertion. It's not about money or the insured or uninsured. Care is now quite dismal for both simply because one has saddled too much burden on the system. You don't cram 150 people onto a forty passenger bus and call it mass transportation. Likewise you don't burden our healthcare system with millions who were not intended to be using it and call it socialized medicine.
