I'm logged on to my phone as root. From a remote loc- my laptop. That PS dump was form my OSX terminal :-)

Heh. I'm logged on to my g'damn g'phone from my laptop. With root.

So I have root on my own phone. From here I could 'jailbreak' it from TMob and jump on the ATT network (the info on how to do that is out on the web, I'm not first or even special on that), but TMobile has been awesome to me and I'm pleased as pie to give them my money after being stuck with Sprint for years just to get the Treo I wanted. As long as they roll out 3g sometime within 6 months, I /promise/ not to jailbreak ;-)

I'm this close to being able to dial from the command line and edit packets. When I can do that remotely form half a world away .... hehehe.... I'm realizing that I just might be able to create the 'personal cloud' of software that I always wanted to have.

I have to say, Android is a Sexy Beast. With the Treo, I strted with the OS and delved down, up until the point that the mountains of trivia became untenable. With android, Well, I was programming applications for it before it even came and was hacking the commandline before I even started up the browser. This is a serious. This makes the IPhone look like a Closed-up Appliance or a game console. This is the bomb. Finally- a true general purpose computing platform in the palm of my hand.

Geek Crack, of the highest order. Google is brilliant. All across the globe thousands of geeks are hacking away at 3:00am (like me) plotting and planning the next killer apps. The good programmers are going to flock to this platform in droves. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Android Laptops out within 2 years. I doubt I'll develope seriously for this, as I'm only a moderate geek- but I bet there are already geeks out there on their second or third week of sleepdep hacking away.

Oh, and for all the Java Haters out there- one last word. I've Been saying it for years:
