Geek Speak

Before I ruin something.

Does anyone know if your basic 12 volt inverter, a gadget which turns 12VDC into 115VAC will function in reverse?

In other words, could I supply power to the 115VAC end of the inverter and use it to charge the battery? I'm aware that one would have to make a cord with male plugs at each end. One end would go into house current, the other into the inverter.

I somehow think not, but I don't know.
