Schematic - good thought. Here's one. Thanks to all!

This comes up with Google. It demonstrates that an inverter is definitely NOT like a simple wire-wound transformer.

As it is the thing lives behind a battery isolater in my van. I was just wondering, though, if in a pinch one of the inverters could be used to charge either that battery or the vehicle battery.

There's a reason there are "inverters" and "chargers" and not "charging inverters".

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone!
