"President-elect Barack Obama added sweep and meat to his economic agenda on Saturday, pledging the largest new investment in roads and bridges since President Dwight D. Eisenhower built the Interstate system in the late 1950s, and tying his key initiatives – education, energy, health care –back to jobs in a package that has the makings of a smaller and modern version of FDR's New Deal marriage of job creation with infrastructure upgrades."
Somehow I think Conservatives will something to scream their guts out on this, but it seems better spent than on companies which give their CEO's $100 million bonuses and severance packages. May pay a few bills for folks, some tuition, may even provide health insurance.
And the infrastructure needs work, that's for sure. I wonder what they'll bitch about.
Arf (Debt, Bow, going into debt for this stuff. Yeah, it's not like borrowing for war or tax cuts for the wealthy, is it?)
"Obama unveils 21st Century New Deal", certainly better spent than on AIG
