All that action, all the movement of the atmosphere and the seas is powered 99% + by the sun. The hysteresis of radiant energy into the atmosphere is almost the sole influencing factor on climate. All the atomic masses heat is determined by excitation.
The atmosphere and waters are like a bowl in the microwave. What's in the bowl is not nearly as important as the microwaves excitation energy expanding the orbits of the molecules.
The vortical flow is constant. The flow of energy from sun to earth is constant.
Manmade global warming or cooling is negligible. The sun will determine the temperature of Earth - not man - and the sun, like all things, does not remain constant but follows certain cycles. When man is intelligent enough to know how to interfere with the solar radiation/earth hysteresis process only then will he be able to successfully manipulate the climate - either warmer or colder.
Flame » in reply to Atmosphere or Oceans?
The sun.
