First, he claimed everyone had to go through a process. This guy didn't, he was fast-tracked. Now saying one thing and doing another is expected of Bush, this is just a good example.

Second, why was the guy fast-tracked? The only reason would be the ~$30,000 campaign donation of his father. No other reason, as the fellow didn't qualify for a pardon under the published guidelines. The same people who blistered Clinton, who had a higher price, should be equally outraged about Bush. They aren't.

And third, the high-profile withdrawal, demonstrating a new-found morality. However, it was only after the press examined the variance in the wording and checked into the background that Bush recanted. A little late.

And no one said it wasn't legal. It was legal.
