Hire someone to mow your lawn. That's a job, you just created it. And there's the ripple effect. That person buys a shirt at Wal-Mart, creates a job in Vietnam.

Hire someone to build a bridge. That's a job. That person buys an HDTV, creates a job in China. May even buy a car, built in Mississippi, that creates dividends in Japan.

It's not like it used to be, where a dollar spent on recovery in the US kind of rattled around the US economy. They now head off, ultimately, to the Middle or Far East.

It's sort of like pouring liquid into a funnel. It hangs around a while but eventually winds up somewhere else.
