"Torture" is what Bush says it is. Much like Roman Catholic Doctrine being what the Pope professes or laws meaning what the Supreme Court says it means, English is defined by Bush.
It's a fool's errand to try to argue with that. We've all been very frustrated assuming that English words have the same meaning regardless of who utters them.
They don't. For instance, to them backing out of a losing cause is "surrender", not withdrawal. (I've withdrawn before, I've gotten the hell out of there not caring how I looked, what the badguys thought, damned glad to have so many souls connected to so many bodies, I quit and we ran. I wasn't aware of "surrendering". Conservatives would describe me as one who "surrendered".)
Hitler operated the same way, not allowing withdrawal because he equated it with "surrender". A lot of people died unnecessarily.
Torture, by definition, is what the badguys do. It is impossible for the goodguys to torture.

Irrelevant. Completely meaningless. And foolish. Give it up.
