Just the raw numbers by which you Republicans lost the election are humiliating enough, but nothing says "repudiation" like the nonstop celebration that's been going on ever since election day. I have never in more than half a century seen the country so happy to throw a political party out of office as we are now.
So I understand your state of continual pissiness, Tom. Message received, you're thoroughly pissed off that your party lost the election and lost it badly.
You might find some comfort in PT Barnum's sage observation that nobody ever went broke underestimating the American people. Maybe people will forget the horrors of Republican rule if you just trash-talk our new President enough. Remember, Joe Sixpack and Joe the Plumber are still on your side, and that's a start. Maybe you can rebuild the Republican coalition around that essential core.
PT's words are less comfort to me, of course, since they mean that we haven't seen the last of the GOP. All I can hope for is that it takes a long, long time before the national IQ falls to the level where Republicans can be elected again.
