Where is this giddiness?
Everyone I meet is depressed, some nearly despondent. And most are NOT Republicans. They don't think either Obama or Bush has/had a clue on how to help America out of its economic crisis. I'm seeing houses foreclosed left and right, jobs lost by the tens of thousands daily in the State, and now even children begging for money.
The sense that complete collapse is just around the corner. And while I'm an eternal optimist, even my optimism has a firm grip with reality.
Obama's Presidency will likely oversee the closest thing to the Great Depression America has witnessed since 1937. In some ways it will be better, in others worse.
Bottomline is America will continue to suffer as long as the free market is interfered with and the horrific "bailout mentality" still exists in DC. Bush has horrified everyone; Cheney, Rumsfeld and all those infamous neocons he was supposedly controlled by, including myself. He doesn't understand economics, just as Clinton and FDR didn't understand economics. Its obvious Obama also doesn't understand economics.
The notion you can "soften" a fall is absurd. The effort is wasted. The effort needs to be put on the getting back up again. In stead of bailing out companies the government should simply be facilitating the resale of corporate assets in receivership to other interested buyers. THey should let economic evolution occur without hampering it and keeping the nation with a bunch of sick companies that are parasites on the citizenry.
Spending your way to prosperity is silly.
The free market must once again establish OBJECTIVE values.
Homes MUST return to real life values. A beach home in CA? $200,000. A new home in the desert? $70,000. Same real life pricing must return to vehicles. A new SUV? $20,000. A new econocar? $10,000.
GM and all the auto manufacturers, like home builders, created obscene prices for goods that were completely out of line with their objective value.
Obama, if you haven't already noticed, is exactly what I pointed out he was - a politician. His appointees are Soros' choices and have nothing to do with change. Podesta - Soros' ex-Clinton man, made it perfectly clear who facilitated the Obama Presidency.
Soros, the man backing Obama and who almost singlehandedly put him into power, the man whose goal for the past fifteen years has been to bankrupt America. The man whose hedge funds created the inflationary spikes in oil prices for the past two and a half years, which siphoned trillions of dollars out of America to place us exactly where we are today.
It should be Soros being sworn in tomorrow.
We are playing out his carefully crafted endgame for America with his own co-pilot Obama as the figurehead.
