Hi Lindy,
Thanks for the amplification on antiperspirants and deodorants. I think you're correct in stating that the former are more dangerous than the latter because of the aluminum chloride in antiperspirants. But there are other aluminum compounds in there as well:
# Aluminum zirconium tricholorohydrex glycine
# Aluminum chlorohydrate
# Aluminum hydroxybromide

I've also begun to have concerns recently about moisturizers and lotions for dry skin. Recent studies show that moisturizers promote tumors in mice.
So, I've switched over to using olive oil to moisturize my dry hands in winter after doing too many dishes.
Olive oil is high in antioxidants, substances that fight cancer. It also contains, oleic acid, a fatty acid that is believed to suppress a gene responsible for over 25% of breast cancers.
Researchers believe that olive oil may be a contributing source to Mediterranean women's low rate of breast and ovarian cancer. However, it is important to remember that Mediterranean diets are also rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, and fish. These are all foods thought to reduce our risk of cancer.
So, we've come almost full circle, but I also wanted to mention that I use olive oil as a substitute for butter in many recipes, but for some things (like popcorn) there is no substitute, and butter it is. Butter is much healthier than margarine. In fact, some would say that margarine is poison.
As for getting wired, I'm happy to live with what Mother Nature has provided. I'll forgo all the usual cliches, and simply note that one peek at a Greek statue should provide some balance about whether or not "size matters."
Cheers!
S
