The first couple of questions.
Is there life in this Solar System other than Earth? That's one we have the capacity to answer, just waiting for the will.
If not we've at least better defined the parameters under which life as we know can exist.
If so, is it's mechanism for reproduction similar to Earth-bound DNA? If it has DNA dissimilar to ours, we've opened the way for many, many other lifeforms under a wide variety of circumstances.
If it has DNA similar to ours, the origins are clouded. A common ancestor? On Earth, or somewhere else in the Solar System?
Every answer leads to more questions, which is as it should be.
