A sanctuary city is not a town where illegal aliens can hide out free from arrest. It is a town where the police will not be utilizing their scarce law enforcement resources tracking down and arresting people
simply because the Fed doesn't want to spend its own resources finding and apprehending them. If the immigration authorities want to arrest an alien, they are free to go into any "sanctuary city" and do so.
It has nothing to do with Left or Right, it has to do with cities like Los Angeles, with huge Mexican-American populations, have more important work for their cops than chasing down a few wetbacks the migras don't even feel the urgency to track down themselves
I find it disgraceful the way the Right distorts this definition to mislead and obfuscate. But I'm not surprised. That's what you guys do.
As for illegals practicing law in California, does California require US citizenship for membership in the Bar? Lawyers go to other countries all the time and counsel clients, or even argue cases before courts. I need more facts to make a decision on this before I'm going to get all indignant about it. I just don't believe anything you guys pull out of thin air any more.
