Your abstract principles

don't get through to anyone because they are completely irrational not because people aren't paying attention. We pay close attention to you Tom and from our side it appears it's someone falling off a cliff of partisan self-interest.

You're allowed to talk about a slippery slope of government excess in regards to limiting unbelievable personal wealth accumulation but we weren't when the government was spying on its citizens and torturing its prisoners? We couldn't worry about worst case scenario when the President was creating executive orders that allowed him to void elections and call for martial law in the case of a national emergency that he alone could define? No that was just Bush Derangement Syndrome of course. Well then what do you call your irrational fear of the commies taking over Tom, your obsession with clowns like Chavez?

I just got done reading numerous articles in Newsweek one of which talked about how Canada's mix of socialism and democracy has contributed greatly to them not only weathering the economic crisis but also prospering in it. Their universal health care system sucks up half the percentage of GDP ours does and life expectancy there is far greater. Companies are flocking there because of the lower costs of doing business. Their banks were never deregulated as ours were and they remained capitalized while ours tanked. So where's the slippery slope occurring there? Are they poised to become the next communist Russia just across our border? Hardly Tom.

Another article talked of the swings in political ideology in our history and how the United States always manages to center itself again once again going counter to your fears of the sky falling into a sea of government earmarks for the people with their hands out trying to take everything you own.

Spare me the stupid analogies. They simply don't fly with anyone that still has a neuron firing.
