What better ideas?

End all social programs? More tax cuts for the rich? Less regulation of industries? A gutting of all environmental programs? More privatization? More expansion of empire?

Tom, all that stuff was pushed and tried to some degree since the Reagan days and it was a big red FAIL. Most of our industries are gone to lands where workers will work for pennies a day. Nobody but the middle class and above can afford quality health care and our life expectancy and infant mortality rate is worse than much of the world. Our environment faces global chaos. The technology to make cars and homes more energy efficient has floundered and even reversed in some cases. The divide between the wealthiest among us and the poorest has widened to Depression era levels. Our public schools are falling apart and our teachers burned out from over regulation.

You show me one place on Earth where your Libertarian meism works in a society with more than 2 people in it. It's a pipe dream that cannot exist among human beings. When we band together in a society, there has to be a sense of community and shared sacrifice or that nation decays to non-existence.

You have no ideas that have any chance of success. Perhaps they'd work if we were all androids or robots with none of the human failings we all possess.

The other extreme, absolute governmental control over all of our lives is just as ridiculous a notion and no more than a tiny handful of liberals and progressives wish for that. None that I know at least.
