I posted the House Republican response on this board. It included none of the things on your cartoon list.

You think our industries moved out because there was too much capitalism? Did they move to Sweden?

The other extreme, absolute governmental control over all of our lives is just as ridiculous a notion and no more than a tiny handful of liberals and progressives wish for that. None that I know at least.

Really. Yet we keep going in that direction, don't we, with no signs of slowing down. We're seriously talking about the government taking over health care and the financial system, and a "tiny handful" of progressives in Congress are talking about the energy industry and others.

Tell me one major economic activity you think is sufficiently regulated. Point out one government program, other than defense, where you think we're spending enough money and should cut back. Then ask the same questions of the liberals you know.

A liberal has one answer for every problem, every crisis: More government power. That the government has caused many of these problems over the years is one of those oddly-shaped pegs that doesn't fit any of the holes in their mind.
