You remind me of the reformed addict, the reformed prostitute, the reformed sinner. You have taken what you have learned and are now using it AGAINST all those around you, as if it's some moral law, (when I believe), it's nothing more than your moral high handedness on this. Bowz, I love ya man, and I agree with you most of the time, but you've really wrapped youself too tightly on this.
I know this kid who got into drugs at an early age, and reformed himself. Goes on a lecture circuit now and considers himself the Knower of All Things. He's tattooed himself black, cut his hair short, has become a gym fanatic, bought a couple of bulldogs, smokes cigarettes and drinks Red Bull like they're going out of style and looks down his nose at anyone who drinks or smokes pot. He can't see he has become his own antithesis.
Alcohol is MORE addictive, MORE harmful and MORE soul and family destroying than weed.
And it's LEGAL! Comes in all colors, strengths and flavors.
There are a lot more problematic things than fining the smokers of weed here in the US.
Especially when the Mexican cartels are beheading people and rolling the heads out onto the local disco dance floors as a warning and murdering the local cops.
The reason they got so strong, was the Reagan/Bush complicity on the "war on drugs" for the past 3 decades, when both American and Mexican generals protected the drug running between countries and paid off the middlemen between the cartels. You KNOW this. And I can imagine your frustratioin to try and stop this. With any luck, the Whistleblower Act will be rescinded , and the good guys in the CIA can come forward and root out the Oilver North wanna-be's and start really bringing in the prosecutions and cutting off the trade routes.
If they can get started on that, and bring over the Blackwater mercenaries to take out the cartels and the street gangs AND start the deciminalization of pot possession; THEN you'll see a lessening of the problem. Plus, if people know there's blood in and on their weed and recognize they are feeding the drug war, then maybe they'll turn to organic American cultivation. And pay for it, and it become regulated. Take away the "romance" (it's illegality) and you can go back to doing AA or MA (Marijuana Anonymous) and helping them start over.
