You're trying too hard.
1) You know you're not going to change our minds.
2) You also know we agree with you in principle, if not in detail.
3) Our differences are of degree, not of kind.
So why do you try so hard? Is it to convince yourself, or to convince those who might be eavesdropping? Or is it to simply deny that there can be no middle ground, no compromise, no toleration of dissent or deviation from orthodoxy?
I don't think you would have lasted long at the Constitutional Convention, one of the delegates would have challenged you to a duel.
