Why look for another Earth when we've already got one?
A whole Universe of amazing, incredible, and bizarre things and we just want to find a
copy of us.
I do know why we want to find another planet similar to ours, but I also hope you
see the deeper meanings of my comment here.
One "problem" with another Earth is the possibility it is already occupied with an
intelligent species. Maybe we can stop by to say hi, but they may not want us to
move in.
What we need to find is another Earth where the highest lifeforms are tree shrews.
No one worries about crowding out a tree shrew. Of course, didn't we evolve from
something similar to that millions of years ago?
Or we could just terraform our own place from a world that is only occupied by rocks.
