Imagination
There's a chance someone on Earth has already described the kind of activity (life or something else) going on on another world.
But we won't know until we discover and understand it.
For the moment, indeed, there actually is very little imagination in our minds.
We can only rely on what we know and we might extrapolate several things the right way, but there are so many other aspects going on, we simply can't describe our future (in space).
