Sorry about "test", I was testing my "save" feature, and it obviously did not work as I expected.
This reminds me of that fission/fusion hybrid we talked about a few days ago. It works like a breeder and handles the heavy fissionables nicely, but still doesn't tackle the real waste problem, the fission products.
I hate to rain on the parade, the source seems reputable (MIT), but unless the fission products are somehow left "behind the wave" and can be removed all at once when the fuel is consumed, they will still accumulate in the fuel, absorb stray neutrons, and poison the reaction.
But I'm just speculating, the article doesn't mention it.
We still have Techy's EMF technology to fall back on now, though.

Not too shabby

- "Traveling wave" nuclear reactor
- I realize it's a mature technology, but what's frightening is "liquid sodium".

- Sounds very promising
