I asked you to name one poster here who claimed the war was won. If you want to claim it was me fine, I've addressed that multiple times already. You can call me a conservative if you want as well, it helps clarify your degree of accuracy.
I did not attempt ot address the issue of was it worth the blood and treasure. My answer is probably not. Knowing what I know now I would have been against going to war with Iraq until Afghanistan was over. That might also be a mistake though as Iraq may well end up where we and the Iraqis want and might not have if we had let sanctions continue to collapse. One thing I am sure of is that Bush and co badly botched the war in terms of securing the country and planning for the occupation. Only time will accurately answer whether the war resulted in enduring progress. I'm sure it will be known as much for mistakes as victories. Once we invaded (mistake or not) we had to finish the job to the point we are at now. If Iraq stays at it's current level of stability and democracy I will consider the war a success from the standpoint of meeting its objectives, but not from the standpoint of a short term positive impact on the US.
Still waiting for you to address your claims that Al-queida and Al-Sadr were Iraqi freedom fighters.
Regards,
Mark
