3D printing has come a long way.
Been watching this tech develop for a couple of years now.
A while back, I came across this company which does 3D printing of architecture models. (I found it because they provide a plug-in for SketchUpso that SketchUp models can be printed). These models are expensive, but really cool.
Wikipedia has a good page on 3d Printing, including links to the page on the RepRap Project, which is working towards creating a self-replicating machine.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these things!
