It's the ultimate Randian fantasy, akin to the nerdy geek becoming a superhero and beating up on all the bullies.

Actually, it's not even a proper fantasy, since the rich industrialist/entrepreneur is rapidly beconing a thing of the past. Most individual fortunes are now run by financial manipulators who don't make of sell anything, and most industrial outfits are owned by other companies, or faceless nested cadres of corporate stockholders, far removed from actual people by multiple layers of holding companies.

The inhabitants of the Gulch will all be hired guns, corporate samurai, professional managers hiding out under their golden parachutes. Not a real businessman in the bunch. And they'll still have to hire people to come in and cook, clean, and take care of their security.
