Actually, it's not even a proper fantasy, since the rich industrialist/entrepreneur is rapidly beconing a thing of the past. Most individual fortunes are now run by financial manipulators who don't make of sell anything, and most industrial outfits are owned by other companies, or faceless nested cadres of corporate stockholders, far removed from actual people by multiple layers of holding companies.
I've documented in the past that this is not actually true. But I'm beginning to think for some reason you take great comfort in believing this.
