I toured Kennedy and Canaveral over 20 years ago and the scale of things was awesome. What I remember most was the jockeying for position on the tour bus, only to find that we drove somewhere and then got out and walked around. I think a few of us felt foolish, including my girlfriend to whom I had given my better seat.

And the control consoles for the Apollo missions, set for Apollo 11. And the Lunar Lander, full size.

Come to think of it, a drive across the country to see a launch isn't out of the question. Not this year, but next year is in the planning stages. And if they miss the date there's a lot to see on the East Coast.
