I suspect that passing out Krugerands along with the fact that many of the locals are really PISSED at Al Qaeda and the Taliban, has turned the indifferent populace into a cohort of paid informers. That is what happened in Iraq, and that is what is likely to be happening in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
