Life could be a dream
I've contemplated the possibility that life could be a dream. But unlike dreams in which the rules change constantly, our physical universe is utterly self-consistent. If it were possible to impose self-consistency on dreams, we might have something. It might even yield insight into how our universe manifests itself so reliably. Vice versa, if we could undermine the self-consistency of the universe, we might then in true human fashion be able to manifest our most vivid nightmares. Still, we're doing pretty good in the meantime.
