A lot of us grew up on Bill Dana in a space suit.
In fact, his "Jose Jimenez" character became sort of a mascot for the original astronaut corps.
This little movie rests on an interesting historical base. There were "Negro" ball leagues, air corps, and other things. One thing they seemed to have in common was that while the functions were essentially segregated, the black people in these groups often outperformed the more mainstream "white" counterparts.
Movie was great. I loved little touches like the white "African American Studies" academic with the hat.
