Alien was truly an eye-popping classic. I'd have to go back to my childhood to find a SciFi flick that made such an impact, and that would be 1956's somewhat cheesy World Without End.
I'm beyond being scared by movies, although Gore's An Inconvenient Truth is frightening in its own way. Sorry; couldn't resist =8^)
I recently saw Watchmen, which is about as atypical as you're going to see from Hollywood, but beware blue frontal superhero nudity.
The last movie I can recall seeing in a theatre before Watchmen was Hellboy, a big disappointment.
As I look bakon it, a big part of the pleasure of seeing Alien was the fact that it was showing in a now-long-gone neighborhood cinema.
Those were the days.
