I get notes from my mother sometimes with e-mail rumors, asking "is this true?" And I tell her.
The truth is out there, but it takes work to find it. Sometimes more work than there is time for most of us. And even then, you can never be completely sure.
What you can take to the bank is that you can't often rely on the "easy" sources.
