You're not looking for discussion. You're looking for your premises and axioms to be accepted without argument, and for the "discussion" to proceed from there.
Gitmo wasn't the "easy" answer, it was probably the only answer--the best compromise of U.S. control without having prisoners on U.S. territory. Any U.S. military base could have been used, but the security would have been lower.
There have been no murders there. There have been four suicides and one death from colon cancer. The Red Cross has constant access.
